The Graduate Experience

The School of Interdisciplinary Forensics offers three graduate degree programs across both the doctoral and master’s levels. Serving over 800 graduate students, SIF is one of the leading centers in the world for graduate education in forensic-related disciplines.

The Ph.D. Program in Law and Psychology is an intensive on-campus doctoral program designed to train a new generation of psychology and law scholars by taking a broad interdisciplinary approach that combines rigorous training in psychological science, research methodology, statistics, criminological theory, and legal theory. 

The M.S. Program in Forensic Psychology is an online program geared toward working professionals and provides a strong foundation in forensic assessment, legal decision-making, criminological theory, psychological research, and criminal law. 

The Professional Science Master’s (PSM) Program in Forensic Science is an online program that readies students for career advancement by providing them with greater educational depth and breadth in the forensic sciences and helping them develop new competencies related to laboratory supervision.

Graduate Degrees

Training in genomics
research program

The Training in Genomics Research (TiGeR) program is being conducted under a grant from the National Institutes of Health.  All eligibility criteria are a required component of the federal grant. This program is focused on training students underrepresented in the scientific workforce with an undergraduate or graduate degree from a regionally accredited institution in computer science, mathematics, statistics or similar fields with limited or no previous experience working with genomics datasets.

The program is designed to support qualifying Biological Data Science graduate students to integrate intensive in-person hands-on exposure to genomics datasets and bioinformatic tool sets, as well as mentored research experiences. The TiGeR program will prepare its students for successful careers as computational experts in genomics research.
